Professional Experience
Christie is an attorney who has refocused her career exclusively on alternative dispute resolution (“ADR”). In addition to being a mediator, she is a collaborative family lawyer and an arbitrator. Christie has trained individuals to become DRC certified Superior Court mediators for Carolina Dispute Settlement Services (“CDSS”). She has also trained state employees for the Office of State Human Resources in a 40-hour employment mediation course.
Christie brings extensive civil litigation experience to her ADR practice. From 1995 to 2006, she was in private practice, where she handled a wide variety of civil cases. Christie also has nonprofit experience from her service as General Counsel and HUD Director of a mental health organization. In that capacity, she had the opportunity to represent her organization in litigation, negotiate commercial lease agreements, and work with State and Federal Agencies in ensuring regulatory compliance.
